Duties of Board Members

DUTIES OF BOARD REPRESENTATIVES…The Board Representatives shall:

(Refer also to addendum Program of Work that outlines a calendar of activities for Board Representatives.)

  • Attend all Convention Board meetings.
  • Provide feedback between the ATA Locals and the Convention Board. (Attendance at local ATA meetings and honoraria is determined by each local.)
  • Work on one of the committees; i.e. Program, Booklet, Facility Setup, Registration Desk, Social, Art Displays, Attendance Committee
  • Bring forth ideas to the board regarding speakers and sessions for convention.
  • Assist as needed at work bees prior to convention.
  • Put up advertising as determined by Convention Board, take posters to District Offices and schools.
  • Be available to assist the smooth functioning of the convention by selling tickets, disbursing information, collecting required forms, etc. as requested by the President. (Check the information board in the Convention Office for areas of need. Let executive know what you are able to do at that time.)
  • Get pertinent information back to the committees by the due dates.
  • Find and/or sit as chairperson for some sessions.
  • Distribute booklets to specific schools and district offices following the January meeting.
  • Provide 2 booklets to the District Administration and School Boards.
  • Be familiar with the Constitution and the Policy Handbook.
